The Walt Disney Company

The Disney Logo!

Disney. Walt Disney. It's filled us with joy and gladness and whatnot throughout the year. From Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) to Princess and the Frog (2009), Disney has filled our hearts with joy and gladness and whatnot, as previously stated above. But enough about that, let's talk Disney Channel. Many fools think that it's full of tween swene junk but it's actually useful. Hannah Montana, the Jonas Brothers, and whatnot keep my little sister out of my hair for hours each day. The things that I like about it are: Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie and Phineas and Ferb. Unlike the show, Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie actually has some action to it. It includes a scene where Alex and Justin have an intense duel to gain control of the family magic. The show meanwhile just focuses on Alex's crushes and whatnot. I mean, WHAT IN THE HECK?! Phineas and Ferb is one of the best darn Disney cartoons I've seen since The Replacements. Stepbrothers Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher make everyday of summer an adventure. It's really funny and it has great songs. J. Severe's older brother doesn't like it and would much rather watch "CNN." He's a fool, is all. Well, that's all I got for today.

A Short Statement in it's History[]

That Mouse Guy...

The Mouse!

As you know, the Disney logo is "Mickey Mouse". Thus, Mickey Mouse has been the corporate character of the disney channel.

... well... that's all...

History[]

The History started in 1993. Back when Disney was producing "Alice Comedies" (which was soon put to a demise). Walt Disney signed a contract with some guy named M.J. Winkler, thus, the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio was created. Walt and Roy Disney (the two brothers who founded such a thing), worked as equal partners. All this was back in the time of soundless black and white movies, quite boring and useless. But back in those times, people actually enjoyed such a thing, just imagine their reaction if they saw the 3-Dimensional movies we know today. Something tells me they'll actually jump back in horror when something jumps out on them in a 3-D movie.

In 1926, they relocated the company and it came to be known as what we know it today, The Walt Disney Studios. Disney had now created and showed the "Oswald the Lucky Rabbit" shorts. Disney soon lost the rights to those shorts and it looked as though Disney went down the drain! However, Mickey Mouse was then created and made into a show, thankfully. Thus, he became the company's mascot. As The Nintendo Corporation had the one called Mario as it's mascot.

Mickey Mouse made his debut (or first real appearance), in "Plane Crazy", where he was characterized to be a foolish fun-hating ugly mouse. But, in "Steamboat Willie", a favorite to many, his characterization was changed and he was transformed into the dancin' Mickey Mouse we know today. Not only was Mickey Mouse's "first appearance" (as said by directors because he was forever changed), but this "toon" was also the first with sound!

The Company than broke famous records in 1937. It's cartoons had been changed from black and white to color, while live movies were still black and white. Also, Walt Disney had been the first to create a feature-length animated movie, what else can I say the man was a genius! He made the "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" movie. And finally in 1940, the company moved to Glendale, California, where it still is to this day. Perhaps one day I'll go there, and maybe they could make an animation movie about my life.
