The Powerpuff Girls is an Emmy-nominated animated series that ran on Cartoon Network from 1998-2005. It circles around three super-powered girls (Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup) who save the world before bedtime.

History Edit

'Tall started back in 1992. There was a never before seen cartoon called "The Whoop[bleep] Girls: A Sticky Situation." The short never aired on Cartoon Network due to a curse word in the title. The short returned in 1995 as "The Powerpuff Girls!: Crime 101" on the What a Cartoon! block on Cartoon Network. Following that short was "Meat Fuzzy Lumpkins." The shorts came so popular that they spin-offed a show called "The Powerpuff Girls." This also happened to its sister show, Dexter's Laboratory. The show turned out to be a hit and continued for 6 consecutive seasons. Some fools complained that the show had too much violence in it. But they were fools is all, as previously mentioned. The show even had its own theatrical movie: The Powerpuff Girls Movie. The movie itself wasn't even a hit, but it was great for the fans. The show was cancelled during 2005, when Cartoon Network turned into a piece of trash. In honor of the 10th anniversary, there was a marathon of The Powerpuff Girls, with a brand-new special: The Powerpuff Girls Rule!!! Also released was a complete series box set, with a never-before seen episode. There was a "first season" box set released a year or two ago, and this release made that useless. The show airs on CN's sister channel, Boomerang at 10:00PM, EST. The show also has its own line of products: such as plush, video game, books, a remake anime series, whatnot, and other random miscellania. The show was rated TV Y-7.

The Powerpuff Girls MovieEdit

A show of this much calibar must have a movie to it. It's only justice! So it got more than that. It got a THEATRICAL movie. Meaning it was in theaters. Thus, the Powerpuff Girls Movie was born. No big deal, you say? 'Tis a big deal. It's the only Cartoon Network movie to be theatrically released. There. How do you like that? Released by Cartoon Network and Warner Bros., the movie's rated PG (PG-13 in the Philippines). Why, you ask? For "non-stop franetic animation action." Which means, it's SO INTENSE!!! Most critics liked this movie, saying it was sweet and whatnot. However some fools didn't like the movie because it had too much violence that was "inappropiate for a young audience." Well what did they expect? It's the Powerpuff Girls for goodness sake!

The movie acts as a prequel to the TV show. It shows how the girls were created by Professor Utonium when he mixed sugar, spice, everything nice, and (accidentally) Chemical X. The explosion not only creates the heroines, but gives Utonium's pet chimpanzee Jojo an intelligent brain. When the girls take away Jojo's place in the Professor's heart, he vows revenge on them. The town shuns the girls after they destroy Townsville in an intense game of tag! The girls meet Jojo, now Mojo Jojo, who tricks them into enslaving the town with evil monkeys! The girls have an INTENSE battle with Mojo, who has injected himself with Chemical X to make him into a giant monster! That fool Mojo is defeated and the day is saved thanks to the Powerpuff Girls!

The movie was released in theaters July 3, 2002. The film earned $16, 426, 471 in the box office, despite it being a box office bomb.
